January is already over. 2026 is rushing as fast as 2025 did. But I do plan to write a review of 2025 in the coming days.

• We are almost done with watching all of the James Bond movies - I am quite sure we will finish them next week!
• We bought a new electric heater for Baby-Es room - and also attached it to the wall almost the same day - I am very proud for that :)
  • We only have to finish paiting the shelf, which E is currently doing, and re-attach the electric sockets
• I had the local NITO (union) general assembly on friday where we elacted the new board, as one of the two board members is leaving the company
• Bought iceskates for my dad and went skating today on the lake right infront of our house. The weather was lovely so we were not alone. My dad fell quite hard on our way back home, so let’s hope no major injuries. For now he it seems fine.
• Made some vegan cinnamon buns today, which turned out quite good :P

Well, it’s already thursday and therefore almost time for week #5. So, let’s finish #4…

• On monday the indoor fence to baby-proof the fireplace finally arrived. So, now I can let baby E crawl around the living room without watching his every step.
  • Currently, it is constantly so cold, that we have the fireplace burning throughout the whole day
• I visited my collegues in the new office and kept a lot of them from working by bringing the baby. Suddenly everyone needed a long coffee break in the kitchen :)
• My dad arrived on thursday
  • It was way easier with the dog and him, than what I was expecting
• Me and my dad went for Pub Quiz at Three Lions Pub
  • It was the start of the season and our usual team had so many people joining that we needed to split in two teams
  • We as the extra team made it at least somewhere in the middle
• We also thought about things we want to finish in the house while my dad is here. It’s great to have additional help, so someone can take care of baby E while the other is finishing tasks
• It’s been a week of watching the old James Bond movies. I am still missing the newest so E and me started watching them from the beginning. It’s been tough for E to watch them so she is quite happy that I can watch them with my dad now :D

So many nationalities showing up and presenting local cuisine - did not find any vegan friendly options, but nonetheless all looks very good

I was looking for a book for years now and I just found it. Now and then I start searching for it, and now I thought I give GPT 5 a run for it. Now that I know its name again, I am wondering why I did not find it before. The info on Amazon about it is basically exactly what I remember of the book 🤦‍♂️ Btw, it’s called “Gelöscht” by Marco Kunst (Dutch - translated to German).

I am currently working on a very annoying bug with indoor positioning. Biggest annoyance is that I have to be in the office to actually test it with the BLE nodes…

Is it really that hard to understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan? This time: Holiday Inn Krakow. Cheese is not vegan, same as fish is not vegan.
